Safer Internet Day 2015

The 12th Safer Internet Day will be celebrated worldwide on Tuesday 10 February 2015. The theme for the day is: "Let's create a better internet together". Once again, all stakeholders – children and young people, parents and carers, teachers and educators, or industry and politicians – are invited to join us in marking the day and working together to build a better internet for all, but particularly children and young people.

The teams of Transmedia: a new narrative that involves communication and education towards the future classroom are preparing activities for 10 February.

Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission* each February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile devices, especially among children and young people. Celebrated on the second day of the second week of the second month, each year on Safer Internet Day hundreds of events are organised to raise awareness of online safety issues, right across the globe.

The online safety landscape has evolved over recent years from a focus on creating a ‘safer’ internet to creating a ‘better’ internet. Following the success of the 2014 campaign in raising awareness at a global level, this year’s Safer Internet Day theme again looks at the responsibility that we must all take in making the internet a better place. Whether we are children and young people, parents and carers, educators or social care workers, or indeed industry, decision makers or politicians, we all have a role to play. Ultimately a better internet is up to us! [#Up2Us]
