The CET Project in the journal VIATA of Buzau

Students give detailed testimonies of what their generation believes is positive about the use of Internet for homework or modern communication: practical experiments that can be seen at a touch of a button and that are done professionally on the internet, comparing to the poor quality of their school laboratory instruments or lack of raw materials and chemical substances. At the same time, the fact that the young generation has grown up with a mobile phone or a laptop, echanges on the internet within their social group is perceived as essential, as very few of them could live apart from their devices.

On the other hand, we have the views of their parents, category who tries hard either to keep up with the latest gadgets or to reject them even from the beginning, denying their obvious advantages. We have, therefore, parents split into two distinctive groups: the “true believers”, who embrace the new technology and are very good, and therefore understanding their children better, and the group of the “vintage rebels”, parents who criticise the new means because they either cannot learn so fast or because they are unable to control their prodigy’s productions on the web or unable to supervise their social interaction in order to protect them from harmful situations.

The conclusion that the students reach is that the future of school and technology is being written right now, under our eyes, and we could only anticipate what it will be like, but it will surely bewilder us, as the young generation had unlimited powers at their fingertips.
